广东省钟表协会成立于1992年，于2007年改名为广东省钟表行业协会（英文译名是Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association缩写为GDHA），是具有法人资格的全省性行业协会。协会由省内具有法人资格的钟表工商企业及钟表企业家、科技人员组成，是广东省钟表业的行业性组织，会员单位还包括关联的工商企业，院校、科研、媒体、服务等事业单位和机构，遍布省内钟表生产的主要地区。

广东省钟表行业协会遵照《社会团体登记管理条例》，贯彻“主动服务企业，密切联系政府，优构行业生态，推促产业升级”的宗旨，依法开展各项活动，以促进省内钟表业发展，维护行业利益，发挥政府行政部门和企业之间的桥梁和纽带作用。

本协会的主要业务范围：提出省内钟表行业的发展战略、规划以及各项技术经济政策的建议；向政府部门反映行业的问题和要求，维护行业的合法权益；积极为企业拓宽市场，加强企业之间和行业内外的经济技术合作；协助政府和企业打击假冒伪劣行为，保护知识产权；加强与国内外、港澳台地区钟表界及协会的联系；开展专题研讨活动，为企业提供国内外市场信息和有关资料；根据企业的需要，组织有关人员进行政策、法规或专业技术的学习培训，提供经济技术咨询服务，协助完成政府和企业委办的任务等。

广东省钟表行业协会与国内各钟表协、商会以及香港表厂商会、香港钟表业总会、台湾区钟表工业同业公会保持着密切的友好交往，交流经验，互通信息。广东省钟表行业协会与香港表厂商会、深圳市钟表行业协会每年轮流举办的“粤港钟表研讨会”至今已28届，深受粤港两地钟表同业欢迎，达到增进了解，交流信息，促进合作的积极作用。

Association Profile

For the sake of the market economy and the development of horologe industry, Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association was founded in 1992, with the permission given by Department of Civil Affaires of Guangdong Province, which has the legal personality (GDHA for short). The association is formed of business enterprise, horologe enterpriser and scientific and technical personnel, all of which have the legal personality. It is a vocational organization for the horologe industry in Guangdong Province, whose members spread all over the cities in Guangdong Province where horologe products are manufactured massively.

Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association was established to boost the horologe industry, ensure the benefit of the industry and flexibly connect the administrative departments of the government and enterprises in Guangdong Province. Its various activities are carried out and organized conforming to social organizations registration management regulations issued by the State Council and other policies, regulations according to the country. Main business scope of the association is to raise development strategies, planning and suggestions for various techniques and economic policies of the horologe industry, to reflect the problems and needs of the horologe industry to government departments, to ensure the legal rights and interests of the industry, to broaden market actively for the enterprises, to strengthen economic and technical cooperation, to assist the government and enterprises to fight against forged and fake commodity, to protect intellectual property, to enhance the connection between the horologe industry home and abroad including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, to carry out special study and discussion to provide market information and pertinent data to the enterprises, to organize personnel for the study and training of associative policies, regulations, or professional techniques, to provide economic and technical advisory service, what’s more, to complete various tasks given by the government and enterprises. For the past few years, the association has been assisting business competent department to carry out abundant activities for the sake of creating high quality products in Guangdong Province. It organized personnel to take part in horologe exhibitions in Hong Kong, Switzerland, invited experts to instruct associative policies and regulations, developed market research, synthesized useful information both domestic and overseas, convened various symposiums, lent an ear to the opinions of the enterprises and reported to relevant departments of the government. Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association has made some progress and been approved by the superiors and member enterprises.

Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association keeps in close touch with the Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries, Taiwan Horologe Industry Association to exchange experience and information. By far, the annual Guangdong-HK Horologe Seminar has been held for 28 times by Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association and the Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries together. Both sides of Guangdong and Hong Kong attach much importance to the seminars, the subject and content of each seminar were deliberated conscientiously to make sure that the subject was distinct and the content was rich and colorful. Each time, there were over two hundred representatives who attended the meetings, which was beneficial to further friendship, enhance understanding, exchange information, and support each other to promote the development of the horologe industry.

Guangdong Province Horologe Industry Association will base on the principle to serve the government and enterprises and be responsible for assisting the government to administrate the horologe industry and ensuring legal rights of the enterprises. It will make every effort to do its job well and boost the horologe industry.
